Rumor patrol: Gwyneth Paltrow, at a charity event in New York on Tuesday, has dismissed whispers her marriage is in trouble

Gwyneth Paltrow has spoken for the first time to dispel persistent rumours that her marriage is on the rocks.

Paltrow calls the rumours concerning her marriage "ridiculous" – adding that it is her role as a wife and mother that gives her the most joy.

"Having a family has made me feel whole," Paltrow, 35, tells Glamour magazine in its May issue.

"I used to always be searching and always lonely. I never feel like that any more."

And she's quick to quash those break up stories circulating: "You will never see us out publicly," she states referring to her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

"We just don't want to be one of those couples."

"It evolved that way," she explains, admitting she has been known to let her guard down, much to the disappointment of her husband of five years.

"He gets furious if I say something about him."

Referring to a recent incident where she declined to reveal her husband's whereabouts to the press, she recalls: "They were like, 'You're breaking up.' ... Ridiculous."

Paltrow has kept a low profile since giving birth to her son, Moses, who celebrated turning two with a party on Tuesday.

But reveals she's happy to talk about her kids and their personalities.

"Apple is an open person," she says of the almost 4-year-old.

"She's Taurus; grounded, calm, funny. Moses is Aries, he's the most sweet, sensitive thing but then he'll kick and karate-chop and spit and tumble. He's a real boy."

How can you live your life never being seen out in public with your husband? Don't they ever want to eat out together or go to the same event together to spend time with each other? It's ridiculous and a bit self absorbed and paranoid. They need to get a grip. So what if you get your picture taken together? I'm sure you can be famous and still manage to spend time in public with your husband. I think the Beckhams have the right attitude and take it in their stride - go ahead and live your life how you choose rather than it being controlled by the paparazzi.

Good for them for wanting a real marriage not an affair with paparazzi! This way they are protecting what's really important "a family unit"..! I think the Beckhams need to take heed!
