Britney Spears will get a surprise when she sees who her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib is hanging out with - her enemy Kathy Griffin.

Brummie-raised paparazzo Ghalib, 36, was spotted having lunch and shopping for lingerie with Griffin, 47, in Beverly Hills yesterday.

The mis-matched pair arrived at upmarket Rodeo Drive in Ghalib's Mercedes convertible and visited underwear chain Victoria's Secret together.

The couple were followed by a host of photographers and videographers, who originally mistook Griffin for Spears in a red wig.

Having moved from behind the camera to be a paparazzo target, Ghalib happily introduced the funny girl to the crowd of photographers.

When asked by the herd of paparazzi what the Toxic singer would think of Ghalib's association with a woman who has publicly mocked her, he refused to answer.

The surprising meeting of Griffin and Ghalib has left gossips wondering if the pair are dating or plotting a TV stunt together.

Redhead comedienne Griffin, currently starring in reality show Life On The D-List, regularly targets the troubled singer in her stand-up routines and TV shows.

Griffin regularly uses Spears' shambolic performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last year as a focal point of her stand-up routine.

On stage in Seattle last November, Griffin said: "Britney's really, really crazy.

"What I found amusing was her laughing at her own c***py performance during the performance of her not being able to lip-synching the words to her own song.

"When she fell back, that was not choreography. She just fell.

"So that night, after the disastrous performance, you'd think someone on Team Britney would say, 'ok, time to lay low for a while'.

"But now, she goes out and there's another f****** crotch picture getting out of the car.... It's like the 17th crotch picture."

Since Spears' second hospitalisation for psychiatric treatment on January 31, Ghalib has been spending increasingly less amounts of time with his on/off girlfriend.

The pair started dating around Christmas after Ghalib spent months photographing the star.

Earlier this week, Gwyneth Paltrow publicly criticised Spears' relationship with Ghalib, blaming the paparazzi for the singer's downfall.

She told Glamour magazine: "Look at what they've done to Britney. The paparazzi and magazines have blood on their hands. They literally made her go insane.

"She's got classic Stockholm Syndrome she fell in love with a paparazzo and went insane. The photographers and the editors of these magazines have such bad karma. It's pretty dark."
