Heather Mills' wonky cleavage scores low marks as she's booed at Miss USA pageant

Updated 09:28am on 17 Apr 2008

She's not exactly Miss Congeniality, and if there were a Miss USA Pageant category for fabulous cleavage, Heather Mills would have been passed over for that sash too.

The former model's overzealous attempt to lift and separate turned heads for all the wrong reasons over the weekend.

Her plunging green velvet dress revealed her rather uneven bust line as she walked the red carpet in Las Vegas.

But the night went from bad to worse for the 39-year-old, was later booed and jeered as she was introduced on the judging panel.

Heather has previously claimed that public opinion of her in the US was "99 per cent positive," and was left visibly upset when part of the audience at the Planet Hollywood hotel began to heckle as she took to the stage with hosts Donny and Marie Osmond.

The live TV contest was Mills's first major public appearance since her £25 million divorce settlement from Sir Paul McCartney.

Clearly not perturbed by the frosty reception, she said: "In England, people don't like me. But I'm going to move to America, Los Angeles hopefully. I love England but everything that has happened makes me realise I'll be better off in the States."

Onlookers later spotted her deep in conversation with famed Hollywood publicist Elliot Mintz at the show's after party - his clients include Paris Hilton - fuelling speculation she's planning to recruit him to help bolster her image in the States.

Heather has previously claimed Sir Paul would not allow her to live in America with their 4-year-old daughter Beatrice.

After the contest Mills attempted to shrug off the heckling: "I really enjoyed myself. It was a great contest. If there was some negative reaction, what can you do? There will always be some people like that."

Mills was on a panel of ten judges on Donald Trump's Miss U.S.A beauty contest.

Her appearance at the beauty pageant came just days after she launched an astonishing tirade against Sir Paul McCartney and "his three girlfriends" on GMTV, saying: "I wish all the girls the best of luck. Better them than me."

She is staying at the five-star Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, where rooms cost up to £5,000 a night, courtesy of the programme.

A spokesman for Miss USA refused to comment on the booing. He added: "We were pleased to have Heather participate on our panel."

Miss Texas, Crystle Stewart, was crowned Miss USA 2008 and will now go on to the finals of the Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam in July.
