Madonna is used to young ingénues copying her many discarded looks. But this time the copycat is none other than her 12 year-old daughter, Lourdes Ciccone Leon.

The precocious pre-teen was seen wearing a pair of black-rimmed Buddy Holly style eye glasses much like a pair worn by her uber-famous mother back in the eighties.

With her dark hair, and naturally bushy eyebrows, Lourdes, seen in New York after attending a Kabbalah service, looks remarkably like a younger version of her famous mother.

It seems that Madonna's fashion conscious daughter is mining the pop queen's fashion back catalogue while she seeks her own individual sense of style.

Though that may prove difficult, seeing as her trendsetting mother has set the fashion bar pretty high.

Madonna's latest hit, 4 Minutes, features Justin Timberlake and is taken from her latest album Hard Candy, released a month ago.

It is the first single the 49-year-old has released that features another artist, according to The Official UK Charts Company.

And never one to stand still, the star put in an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival on the weekend to promote I Am Because We Are, the documentary about the millions of orphans in Malawi, which she produced.

Madonna, who in February staged a glitzy celebrity party with Gucci and Unicef to raise funds for the West African country, was accompanied by the film's director, Nathan Rissman.

In 2006, Madonna and husband Guy Richie adopted a son, David, from the country.
