Leading lady: SJP will hit the red carpet to night for Sex And The City's film premiere

Both will team up with the rest of the quartet - Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis – at Leicester Square and are expected to give a brief speech before the curtain goes up asking the 1,700-strong audience not to disclose the plot ahead of the UK release on May 28.

When pressed to give a hint about the plot line, SJP said: “ It's about forgiveness and pursuing love in a way that is real and meaningful”.

“I think it's about what it means to be a grown-up, and to recognise your own complicity and disappointment,” the BBC previously reported her as saying.

“I think in your 20s you spend a lot of time making the boys the villains.

“There's a difference when you're 40."

“You really experience loss and disappointment and you have to reconcile what part you played in it.”

The actresses are then set to return to the US for the New York premiere on May 27.
