A star is born: Tom and Katie take baby Suri to tap-dancing class

Updated 12:00pm on 17 May 2008

Baby Suri still may not have ditched the milk bottle but it appears her parents have decided it's never too early to start nurturing her talents.

Although the two year-old hardly need work to achieve fame and fortune, Tom and Katie have already enrolled her in tap-dancing class.

Pictured with her mother on their way to the lesson in Hollywood, Suri made sure to wear the appropriate footwear as her newfound skill will surely be an added bonus to the family's existing acting abilities.

Doting mum: Katie Holmes takes baby Suri to tap class in Hollywood on Thursday

Katie Holmes looked her usual yummy-mummy self in casual purple top and jeans as she doted on her daughter.

Proud father Tom Cruise followed behind as both parents appear to be taking an active role in Suri's life, despite being called into question over Suri's bottle.

Experts and paediatricians recommend parents start to wean their child off the bottle at the age of one.

The cute toddler is frequently photographed drinking from a bottle - despite turning two last month.

Dr Charlotte Cowan, author of the Dr Hippo parenting books, told Us Weekly magazine: "Most paediatricians recommend a bottle should be given up by age one — almost certainly by 18 months."

Perhaps Tom Cruise is hoping the distraction of tap dancing will help wean baby Suri off the bottle
