Coleen McLoughlin assumed her position as Head Wag - in the absence of Victoria Beckham that is - as the wives and girlfriends of Manchester United head for Moscow for the European Championship final.

Fresh from her sunshine break in Miami, Coleen who is currently preparing for her million pound wedding looked slim and toned in a silver vest and tight faded jeans.

She flew out from Manchester Airport at 8am with the other Wags, and Sir Alex Ferguson's wife Kath.

For once the over-the-top glamour usually associated with the Wags was kept under control with most of the women, including Gary Neville's wife Emma, and Ryan Giggs wife Stacey opting for platform heels, jeans and tasteful slick of make-up for the flight to Russia's capital. 

Some like Rio Ferdinand's partner Rebecca and Paul Scholes wife travelled with their children. But all are clearly keen to support their partners, who will face arch London rivals Chelsea in the highly anticipated match tomorrow evening.

Coleen celebrated her hen night in Manchester last week. Speaking about her big night out for the first time, she revealed she was entertained by a comedy drag queen on her hen night.

She said: "He was hilarious and got us all playing silly games."

Her 24-strong party included both her mother Colette, 44, and Wayne's mother Jeanette, 39, who has lost an amazing seven stone in time for the small but expensive wedding.

The party all enjoyed beauty treatments at the luxury Lowry Hotel. The drag queen then performed at a cocktail reception, along with a singer.

Coleen told Closer magazine: "We then headed out to a club in Manchester and stayed out dancing until the early hours. It was brilliant."
