But husband Guy Ritchie was in for a treat when he stepped out for dinner with wife Madonna in Cannes last night.

The 49-year-old music legend wore a pair of tight over the knee boots, and matching leather fingerless gloves to dine with Guy, 39, at restaurant Felix.

Clearly the raunchy looks she has adopted to promote her new album Hard Candy have spilled over into her home life.

Teamed with a satin trenchcoat, a glimpse of which revealed a racy leopard print lining, clearly Madonna needs no help to spice up her love life.

The couple’s appearance in Cannes together will do much to allay speculation that their marriage might be under strain.

Film director Richie bought her a £10,000 bejewelled ice pick – the Jagger Dagger -  designed by Jade Jagger to add to her collection.

She already has a unique £100,000 limited-edition Jade Jagger dagger.

The couple were seen ahead of several events she is scheduled to attend at the famous film festival, which is currently playing host to many of Hollywood’s heavy hitters.

Madonna is expected to attend an exclusive VIP lunch today.

The do hosted by fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg is to toast the Cannes screening of I Am Because We Are, Madonna’s documentary about Malawi AIDS orphans.

The soiree will take place aboard EOS, the $200 million 300-foot yacht owned by Von Furstenberg's husband Barry Diller.

She will also join Sharon Stone cohost of the annual fundraising fete for AIDS organisation amfAR.

Madonna and Guy are awaiting the final decision from the court in Malawi on whether they can have permanent custody of three-year-old David Banda.

She was granted a temporary custody order after choosing David from an orphanage when he was 13 months old.

Madonna has a daughter Lourdes, 11, from her relationship with her former personal fitness trainer Carlos Leon, and a son Rocco with Ritchie, 7.
