His former team mates were in a state of elation after clinching the European Cup, but across the globe David Beckham was having a much quieter time.

Almost an hour after Manchester United won the Champion’s League after a dramatic penalty shoot out in Russia, the midfielder was taking his seat at in the front row of a Lakers game in Los Angeles.

Boys will be boys: David and son Brooklyn attended another LA Lakers game last night straight after Manchester United's victory. Becks enjoyed a sneaky look at the cheerleaders during the pre-game warmup.

Sweet moment: David Beckham sliced and diced a toffee apple to share with his son Brooklyn

It’s not known the former captain watched the team defeat Chelsea in the US, but if he did, he certainly didn’t stay around to celebrate.

Beckham, who has become a huge NBA fan in recent months - and its cheerleaders -  looked decidedly subdued as he sat courtside with his eldest son Brooklyn.

But he did offer a small smile as he struggled to cut a toffee apple with a knife and fork in between quarters.

The star enjoyed a much less prestigious win with his new team LA Galaxy against FC Dallas over the weekend.

While his wife Victoria has declared that that she "loves" the family’s new life in the US, she recently hinted David has struggled to adjust.

She told GMTV earlier this month: "It's great for me and my career. You know, David - it's tough the football because it's completely different - but he went there for a reason, he's trying to change the face of soccer in America."
