Prince Harry

Back to business: Prince Harry on exercise in Windsor

Leading from the front, it's back to business for Prince Harry as he takes part in a two-hour training hike with his Blues & Royals regiment.

He was back in uniform today for the first time since returning from the front-line in Afghanistan.

The royal soldier was pulled out of the war-torn Helmand province by defence chiefs in March when news of his secret deployment leaked and troop safety was compromised.

During his ten-week stint in the Blues and Royals fighting the Taliban in desert terrain Harry, 23, directed bomber pilots as a forward air controller.

Since his tour of duty was cut short the newly-promoted lieutenant has been on leave. But today he is pictured in combats with his regiment in Windsor as they take part in the training hike.

The fresh air is also sure to take his mind off girlfriend Chelsy Davy who will no doubt be preparing for the summer ahead as the end of her university term looms.

The couple had been together on Saturday for the wedding of Prince Harry's cousin Peter Phillips to Autumn Kelly.

Before the furore over the couple's decision to go for a £500,000 Hello! wedding deal, all the talk had been about the opportunity it gave the prince to formally introduce his girlfriend to the Queen.

Even though Prince Harry and Chelsy, 22, have been together for four years it is the first occasion she has been welcomed into such high-level royal circles.

Prince Harry has said he is eager to get back to the frontline "very, very soon" but army chiefs have said they are reluctant to return him to operations against the Taliban for at least a year.

As yet it is unclear how Harry will spend his next few months with the Army.

Earlier this month Harry was presented with a medal for his Afghanistan tour of duty by his aunt the Princess Royal.

Other soldiers at the ceremony said the young royal fitted in easily to army life and was greatly respected by the men he led.

A Clarence House spokesman said: "Harry will be doing whatever his regiment asks him to do over the next few months."
