Lindsay Lohan has fuelled reports she is in a romantic relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson after she was spotted flashing an engagement ring at Cannes.

The 21-year-old caused a stir in a green bejewelled mini dress at the Dolce E Gabbana party at the Baoli restaurant at Port Canto on Friday.

The singer/actress has been regularly spotted partying and dining with 30-year-old Samantha - sister of producer Mark Ronson - since last year.

The two women were photographed kissing and cuddling on Sean 'P Diddy' Combs' yacht party on the French Riviera on Thursday night, fuelling long rumours they are more than friends.

The Mean Girls actress looked happy as she intimately conversed with her DJ friend.

And the sister of Producer Mark Ronson did not seem to care who was watching their steamy kiss.

During her week in Cannes, Lindsay has been wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger, leading to speculation of how close the actress is to Samantha.

The Mean Girls star's rep Leslie Sloane said last week: 'They are close friends.'

Lindsay's mother Dina has given her approval to her daughter's friendship with Samantha.

She said: 'Samantha's a sweetheart. She's great – and she's the best spinner around.

'I'm friends with her mom.

'She's raised some extremely talented kids. It's a talented family.'

Other celebrities at the star-studded Dolce E Gabbana bash included Naomi Campbell, Kerry Washington, Rose MacGowan, Juliette Lewis, Milla Jovovich, Dita Von Teese, Petra Nemcova, Natalie Portman and Dennis Hopper.

Kate Hudson and Lance Armstrong, who are rumoured to be dating, also attended the bash.

Li-Lo's steamy kiss also sparked rumours hat Samantha had moved in with Lindsay to help her stay out of trouble following her famous stint in rehab last year.
