Smooth operator: Has TV chef Gordon Ramsay had Botox?

Updated 19:55pm on 27 May 2008

Gordon Ramsay is as famous for his frowning brow as his penchant for the F-word.

So perhaps it was a surprise to see the TV chef showing a rather smooth appearance on the red carpet last month.

Looking fine, Gordon: The TV Chef's face looked noticeably less lined at a recent awards bash (right) than a few months ago (left)

The Hell's Kitchen and The F Word host recently joked about having gone under the knife during his recent trip Stateside.

He said: "I've just come back from LA - do you think the Botox has worked?"

However, after the food guru and wife Tana appeared on the red carpet of the Britain's Best 2008 Awards last week, speculation has mounted that he wasn't joking at all.

His furrowed brow was looking less pronounced than usually and the lines of his chin were also

Plastic surgeon Alex Karidis told Heat magazine: "It's possible he's had some work done - Botox for the forehead or some fillers in the chin.

"Otherwise he may have had surgery under local anaesthetic to release and lift up the lines."

When asked for comment, Gordon's spokesperson said: "Gordon would be the first person to mercillessly take the p*** out of anyone that has had surgery."
