Peep show actor David Mitchell almost stole the show from actor Kris Marshall who recovered from being knocked over to make his debut in new play Fat Pig.

As the formerly porky actor unveiled a decidedly slimmer side at the show's opening night.

The star of the BAFTA award-winning Channel Four programme proudly opened his jacket to reveal he is the latest celebrity to shed the pounds with a significantly reduced girth.

Mitchell, stars as David Corrigan in the popular show alongside comic partner Robert Webb.

Last night he turned out with a host of fellow comedy actors to Kris Marshall debut in the West End play just three weeks after he was knocked down by a car while on a night out.

The star of the BT adverts has returned to full health ready for the opening night of Fat Pig despite being in intensive care for two days after the accident.

The 35-year-old, who also starred in BBC1 sitcom My Family, was out with friends
in Bristol city centre at the end of April when he was hit by the car

He was joined on stage by fellow TV stars Joanna Page and Robert
Webb, star of the Peep Show.

Joanna, who plays Stacey in BBC Three's comedy Gavin and Stacey plays Jeannie, an office bitch in an east coast U.S.A city.

But the attractive Joanna is left furious after she learns she's been dumped by her colleague Tom for a librarian who is about 20 stone in the play by writer Neil La Bute, who also directs.

Page was supported by her Gavin & Stacey co-stars for her big West End debut when
Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman and Ruth Jones attended the first night party.

Along with comic Phil Jupitus, and actor MacKenzie Crook.
