Lindsay Lohan has taken her reported lesbian romance on the road, hitting New York with her girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

The Hollywood starlet looked smitten as the pair strolled along Lexington Avenue before stopping off for lunch with Lindsay's younger sister Ali.

The pair have been regularly spotted together in recent months and sparked rumours of romance after they were caught cosying up on P Diddy's yacht in Cannes last week.

The star's spokesperson Leslie Sloane has described them as just 'close friends,' but insiders say there's more to it.

A source told Mail Online: 'They're definitely dating. It's been going on for a long time now - they've been together casually for about a year.

'They're really happy together. Sam lets Lindsay be herself and doesn't judge her. And they've been through a lot together.'

Lindsay's mother Dina appears to have given the 30-year-old, who is the sister of uber producer Mark Ronson, her seal of approval.

She said: 'Samantha's a sweetheart. She's great – and she's the best spinner around.'

Lindsay has previously been romantically linked to Calum Best, Harry Morton, Wilmer Valderrama and Aaron Carter.
