So where DID you get that shiner, Jamie Theakston?

Updated 13:54pm on 30 May 2008

Jamie Theakston proved he has a perfect face for radio during an outing in London's today.

The Heart FM radio presenter was sporting an almighty shiner on his right eye as he stopped in at a Notting Hill deli.

He was none too impressed when he was spotted with a black bruise, quickly slipping on a pair of sunglasses the moment he realised he’d been seen.

Ouch: Jamie Theakston stepped out in Notting Hill today with an almighty shiner

But a fist wasn't to blame, with a spokesperson telling Mail Online the culprit was in fact a stray cricket ball during a match over the weekend.

The star recently welcomed his first child with his wife Sophie, whom he married last year.

The couple named their son Sidney, ignoring suggestions by listeners to his radio show, where the most popular choice for a boy was Elvis.

The birth was followed by yet more cause for celebration - recent figures show Theakston and his co-host Harriet Scott retained  the largest breakfast radio audience in London of any commercial station.
