Pop art idol: Another bad hair day for Andy Warhol lookalike Sarah Harding

Updated 13:44pm on 30 May 2008

Sarah Harding is known for taking inspiration for her edgy hairstyles from unlikely sources.

In the past the Girls Aloud singer, 26, has taken style cues from Star Trek's Mr Spock, and sported an 80's style perm like Ashes to Ashes star Keeley Hawes.

But now she's revealed a more artistic bent, as she channelled pop art pioneer Andy Warhol's tousled bed-head look.

Sarah unveiled her fashionably messy blonde do as she arrived at the Hilton hotel in Manchester for the latest stop on the Girls Tangled Up! tour.

And while she looked a dead-ringer for the American artist who shot to fame in the  sixties for his paintings of everyday objects - such as tinned soup.

It's not the only thing they have in common.

Like Sarah, Warhol was just as famous in his time - along with muse Edie Sedgewick - for his love of partying, as the hard-partying Girls Aloud star.

A gaunt-looking Sarah completed the 'Warholian' look with huge white-framed sunglasses.

She has reportedly shrunk from a size 10 to a size 8 due to the Girls hectic tour.

A source said: ‘They’re burning at least 2,000 calories each show with all the high-tempo dance moves.

‘They have to eat more to make up for it, but sometimes they’re simply too exhausted to fit in a proper meal.’
