TUNE IN FOR...

You'll Never Walk Alone (R2 Tuesday 10.30pm)

Liverpudlian actress Sue Johnston explores how the Rodgers and Hammerstein showtune You'll Never Walk Alone came to be recorded in almost every musical genre and found its way into the hearts of her native city via Gerry & The Pacemakers.

Archive Hour  -  The Dream Time Of Jazz (R4 Tomorrow 8pm)

The astonishing folklorist Alan Lomax travelled throughout America recording blues and folk musicians and, in this case, jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton. Historian Marybeth Hamilton accesses the importance to jazz history of his ten hours of interviews with Morton in 1938.

Listening To You  -  The Who At The Isle Of Wight (Sky Arts Thursday 9pm)

It would be against noise regulations today, but The Who came to the Isle of Wight stage at the legendary 1970 festival just before 2am to play what many regard as one of their finest sets. Tune in, and marvel.

BOOK NOW FOR...

Franz Ferdinand are taking time out from finishing off their third album for a brief, low-key tour of modest venues from June 21-29 including Fibbers, York (June 21); Moles, Bath (June 25); and The Orange Box, Yeovil (June 26). Tickets at £15 from the venues, full list on www.franzferdinand. co.uk

LOG ON FOR...

Norwegian singer Annie seems destined to become one of the big new pop names of the year. She's also got the kind of looks which make the title of her new single I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me, which is released on July 7, surely autobiographical.
