Jade Goody last attracted boos and hisses for her comments in the Celebrity Big Brother House.

She was portrayed as the villain of the piece in last year's show after sparking an international controversy with her remarks about actress Shilpa Shetty.

But later this year she will be playing the baddie for laughs in panto as she takes on the role as the Wicked Queen in Lincoln Theatre Royal's production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Goody - a veteran of the Big Brother series which made her famous - was evicted from the Celebrity House in a public vote after her description of the Bollywood star as "Shilpa Poppadom".

It sparked outrage in India, where  protesters in India burning an effigy of the show's producers.

After seeing clips of her comments, Goody admitted: "In all honesty I am disgusted with myself witnessing what I have seen.

'I do not approve of any of my actions and I do not approve of the words that came out of my mouth.'

She added: 'I am not a racist and I sincerely, with my hand on my heart, apologise to anyone I have offended out there.'

At Lincoln Goody will be performing alongside Any Dream Will Do singer Rob McVeigh and ex-Coronation Street actor Kevin Kennedy, who played Curly.

Director Chris Colby is delighted with the line-up for the show, which opens on December 17.

He told the Lincolnshire Echo: 'Kevin Kennedy had a huge role for many years as Curly Watts in Coronation Street and Jade Goody is known to everybody.'
