Black Jack's little girl, the face (and body) of Agent Provocateur

Updated 03:21am on 8 Jun 2008

Her grandfather is a controversial property tycoon and gambler known as Black Jack, her millionaire father once ended up in court accused of drug smuggling and one of her aunts died from an overdose.

So 20-year-old part-time model Alice Dellal has a colourful family background to live up to – and she hasn’t disappointed.

She has become the new face, and body, of racy lingerie brand Agent Provocateur, which is famous for its range of lacy confections and bondage-like underwear.

Risque business: Glamour model Alice Dellal, who is described as 'young, hot and loaded'

The luxury brand’s previous projects have featured Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss in poses leaving little to the imagination.

Alice has already sat in on a secret photoshoot for a risqué new campaign due for release in September.

The property-empire heiress, described as ‘young, hot and loaded’, is the granddaughter of the reclusive Jack Dellal, 83, who, with a fortune of £800million, is one of Britain’s wealthiest men.

Black Jack, who gained the name from his love of gaming tables around the world, made his fortune after leaving his job as a merchant banker to become a property speculator.

He pulled off one of the most audacious property deals in recent memory when in 1987 he bought the freehold of the BBC’s Bush House in London for about £50million and sold it two years later for a reputed £138million.

The deal led to an investigation by the Department of Trade and Industry. It discovered no wrongdoing. Black Jack now has homes in London, France, Monaco and Cape Town.

He runs the family-owned Allied Commercial Holdings with Alice’s father, his eldest son Guy, 46, and was part of a team that sold Shell-Mex House in London for about £490million last year.

However, Guy, a former escort of Mick Jagger’s ex Jerry Hall, was not always the respectable entrepreneur.

In 1978, when he was 21, he was accused of being involved with a ring that smuggled cocaine worth £40,000 into Britain.

It was decided that he had been used by dealers and he was fined £2,500 and given a
12-month suspended jail sentence.

Three years later Guy’s sister Suzy, 24 – the third of Black Jack’s seven daughters – who studied history of art at the Sorbonne in Paris, died from a heroin overdose.

Guy once loaned a house on the family’s Hampshire estate to Michael Jackson when the singer was battling drug dependency and trying to escape publicity after allegations of sexual impropriety with boys.

Alice has her own exotic connections. Her mother Andrea de Magalhaes Viera is a Brazilian former fashion model.

Her godfather is celebrity photographer Mario Testino. And her friends are mostly rich and well connected offspring of other famous parents such as Elizabeth and James Jagger and the Casiraghi children of Princess Caroline of Monaco.

Alice is said to be dating 20-year-old Pierre Casiraghi. She has already modelled for punk designer Dame Vivienne Westwood and is to feature in the September issue of Paris Vogue.

A source close to Agent Provocateur said: ‘Alice is a fresh new face who will appeal to a younger crowd and we are very glad to have her.’
