From buff to blobby: Hollywood heart-throb Rob Lowe loses his six-pack

Updated 16:06pm on 10 Jun 2008

After more than two decades as a Hollywood heat-throb, it appears middle age is finally catching up with Rob Lowe.

The 44-year-old's bulging paunch lead the way as he strolled along Santa Monica earlier this month, his flabby physique a far cry from the buff body he proudly showed off during a beach holiday just three years ago.

Belly: Rob Lowe, pictured left in Santa Barbara this month, has said goodbye to the buff body he sported in 2005

Perhaps the actor, who currently stars in the TV drama Brothers and Sisters, simply has more pressing matters on his mind.

He is, after all, actor is in the middle of a bitter legal battle with his former nanny,  Jessica Gibson.

He is suing his 24-year-old former employee for violating a confidentiality agreement.

Gibson has since launched action to countersue the actor and his wife Sheryl for sexual harassment, claiming he groped her and exposed himself.

A second nanny, Laura Boyce, also filed suit for harassment.

The couple, who have two sons Matthew, 14, and John Owen, 12,  deny the allegations. The next hearing is scheduled for June 19.

Give me a break. What do most 44-year old men look like? Your thoughtless, narrow-minded comments are totally off-base. In the end, people need to be comfortable to be themselves, not to live up to someone else's standards.
