The Apprentice rejects were back with a vengeance as they got together to film the final You're Hired! show.

Kooky Lucinda Ledgerwood, the most recent contestant booted off the programme by Sir Alan Sugar, made one last bold statement in a shocking pink beret and accessories.

Following her was Michael Sophocles, who Sir Alan branded "a total joke" and said he should have fired him after the task when he didn't know what kosher meant - despite describing himself as "a good Jewish boy".

Sophocles, 25, managed to maintain his swagger last night though as he walked into Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, where the winner chatted to Adrian Chiles for the BBC2 spin-off show, to be screened on Wednesday after the final. Dapper Raef Bjayou, 27, looked typically immaculate in a pinstriped suit.

The two Jennys, Celerier and Maguire, were at the party, as were Sara Dhada and self-proclaimed "African princess " Lindi Mngaza, 22, who was rumoured to have had a fling with Sophocles during the show.

Simon Ambrose, last year's winner, also showed up.

The winner, who will earn £100,000 working for Sir Alan, is announced tomorrow. Finalists are favourite Claire Young, 29, Lee McQueen, 30, Alex Wotherspoon, 24, and Helene Speight, 32. Wotherspoon revealed today he has been receiving death threats.

The sales manager said he has received a pile of unpleasant emails and one is now under investigation by the BBC. "There are some warped people out there," he said.

"One guy sent me an email saying 'I wish you'd die,' which was a bit strong."

A BBC1 spokeswoman said: "We take the safety of the contestants seriously so are looking into this."
