Lily Allen may be in Los Angeles on business, but she's finding plenty of time for pleasure too.

The Smile singer took a break from working on her second album for a day of pampering, hitting a nail salon for a pedicure before stopping off for a sweet ice cream treat.

The fun didn't stop there. The 23-year-old moved on for a shopping spree on Melrose Avenue, where she bought bags full of sneakers.

The singer was trailed by a pack of LA photographers, but appeared more than happy to be centre of attention.

She wrote on her blog yesterday: 'I have never been followed like we were today, there were literally 20 cars of with us.

Apparently taking a leaf from Britney Spears' dating book, she adds: 'Not that I'm complaining, they were perfectly pleasant, in fact we had a bit of a laugh with them and I quite fancied one of them.'

But she was critical of the paparazzi on one front, urging them to downsize their gas-guzzling SUVs, writing: 'Boys, go green.'

It has certainly been a busy couple of days for Lily since touching down in the country.

She was spotted dining at Il Sole with Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson on Monday night.

And she promises her album is coming along nicely, assuring fans she's just written a track 'that will blow your minds'.
