Even the most hardened sports fan occasionally has to take a break from the all-consuming football festival that is Euro 2008.

But Match of the Day host Gary Lineker had to go to greater lengths than most to meet up with his stunning model girlfriend Danielle Bux.

Gary, 47, flew home from Vienna to share a romantic Japanese meal at Kyashi, inside the Kingly Club in St Martin's Lane Hotel, last night.

Danielle dressed up for the occasion, in a purple satin Kyri cocktail dress, and Gina shoes.

But not everything went according to plan - as the couple left the club in the early hours Gary had to wake up his napping driver by knocking on the car window.

Still, judging by the grin on his face as he walked hand-in-hand with beautiful mother-of-one Danielle, Gary didn't seem to mind.

Since parting from wife Michelle in 2006, father-of-four Gary escorted a long line of lovelies before becoming smitten by former air hostess Danielle.

They holidayed in Dubai last month and spent a week on holiday with his children in Barbados in April, leading to talk of a possible wedding announcement.
