Alex Curran and footballer husband Steven Gerrard clearly took a relaxed approach to the first anniversary of their nuptials as they spent the day beforehand poolside relaxing in their swimming costumes.

The couple, who married in last year's WAG wedding of the year in a lavish ceremony at stately home Cliveden, looked relaxed as they continued their break in Miami yesterday ahead of their special day today.

Alex, 25, showed off her curves in a fashionable coral coloured bikini, as she soaked up the sun with her Liverpool ace husband.

The couple, whose absence at the Rooney McLoughlin nuptials proved to be a big talking point, had clearly planned their own event to mark their first year together as husband and wife.

And despite her dislike of exercise, Alex even embarked on a fitness regime to get her in great shape for the States.

She explained: 'Steven and I are really looking forward to going on holiday to America next month, where we’ll celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

She added: 'I’ve started running because although I don’t want to lose weight, I do want to tone up and get healthy for the summer.

'I find it hard to motivate myself but my mum comes with me and we run round the park together and she makes sure I don’t stop.'

The couple arrived in Miami last week with Steven's cousin, her boyfriend and another couple.
