Daddy dearest: Harrison Ford shows his softer side as he dotes on Calista's adopted son

Updated 11:08am on 17 Jun 2008

Despite a reputation for tough-guy roles in action films, Harrison Ford appears to have no trouble revealing his more sensitive side.

The Indiana Jones star took the opportunity to dote on fiancee Calista Flockhart's adopted son Liam when they spent Father's day together at an LA restaurant yesterday.

And Liam went to great lengths to ensure the feeling was mutual.

Harrison, 65, was pictured sporting Liam's labour of love, a signed T-shirt with a special message.

The seven-year-old is clearly thrilled at having Indiana Jones as a father figure as the message on the T-shirt read, 'the best dad in the world'.

The actor is reportedly planning to adopt Liam after marrying the Ally McBeal star, perhaps, as he claims, because the relationship helps to keep him feeling youthful.

He said: "I don't pretend to be anything I am not age wise, but Liam keeps me feeling connected to this growing and maturing process which is so much fun."

The 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' actor already has four children, two grown-up sons, Benjamin and Willard, with first wife Mary Marquardt.

He also has two children, a son Malcolm and daughter Georgia, from his second marriage to Melissa Mathison. The pair's divorce was finalised in January 2004.
