The lady is a vamp! Kelly Brook recreates heroine Rita Hayworth's sexy Forties pose

Updated 14:44pm on 19 Jun 2008

She was known as the 'Love Goddess' for her explosive on-screen sexual charisma during the 1940s, which made men go weak at the knees.

Now Kelly Brook is set to do the same after dressing up as Hollywood siren Rita Hayworth in a sexy new photo-shoot emulating the movie star.

Miss Brook, 28, has recreated images from classic film Gilda, which was credited with turning the movie great into an international sex symbol and pin-up.

The model, dressed in satin, recreates the legendary one-glove striptease from the film, which titillated a whole generation of men when released in 1946.

Hayworth's portrayal of Gilda, who famously sings the sultry 'Put the Blame on Mame' in the film, was said to have been the ultimate 'femme fatale' role.

Miss Brook's photo shoot also recreates the famous hair tossing antics of the cabaret singing temptress in the film for the pictures in the latest issue of Skymag.

Despite her public image Hayworth, who tragically died from Alzheimer's in 1987, aged 68, was in reality said to be quiet and unassuming.

Her real name was Margarita Carmen Cansino, but her name was changed and her hairline was raised by electrolysis before she became a star.

Hayworth's also famously appeared in Life magazine in 1941 kneeling on her bed in a silk and lace nightgown, before Gilda secured her iconic status.

She also played a string of seductress roles as well as Gilda, including films like Tales of Manhattan and Blood and Sand.

She was famed not only for her beauty but also her dancing, including with Fred Astaire, after being born into a family of dancers.

Kelly Brook, famously took part in last year's Strictly Come Dancing on BBC1, but despite being one of the favourites had to pull out after the death of her father.

She was recently back in the headlines when it was revealed she have reignited her romance with Hollywood actor Billy Zane.

Miss Brook, who was recently signed up for another two seasons by high street chain New Look, had a tough time after splitting with the actor.

Then only recently it was revealed that the pair were back together, but still have no plans to get married.

She said: "I really missed Billy. We realised we're at our happiest when we are together. It's just the best feeling being with him."
