While his celebrated former actress girlfriend Sienna was being feted at the London premiere of her new film, a rather tipsy Rhys Ifans was feeling the strong arm of the law.

The actor who has been seen drowning his sorrows after splitting from ex-girlfriend Sienna was collared by police after he was seen throwing a bottle of beer at photographers last night.

A worse for wear Rhys, 33, had his run-in with the snappers after leaving the Hoping Foundation Benefit Evening, held at jazz club Ronnie Scott's.

Strong armed: Worse for wear Rhys Ifans was reprimanded by the police after he threw a bottle at waiting snappers on the night of ex-love Sienna Miller's London premiere

Rhys was seen coming out of the legendary jazz club at at 12.30pm with a bottle of lager in his hand.

Clearly infuriated by the attention he has received following the announcement of his split from Sienna, 26, an angry Ifans threw the glass bottle of beer he was carrying into a crowd of people which included members of the public and photographers.

Unfortunately for the heartbroken actor whose split from girlfriend Sienna Miller was announced earlier this month, the police were quick on the scene.

The actor could be seen surrounded by a number of police officers, and looked somewhat distressed.

Luckily for Rhys, who was with a friend, the officers took pity on him and let him off with just a stern talking to.

Meanwhile, Sienna was back at work as she attended the London première of her new film The Edge Of Love.

Later she was seen after the films after- party unaware of what her troubled ex-love has been getting up to.

Her co-star and former boyfriend Matthew Rhys has denied he is back together with old flame Sienna Miller.

The pair's closeness is said to be behind the actress' split with Notting Hill star Rhys Ifans.

But Rhys who dated Miller, before she ditched him for Ifans denied the pair were an item again.

Asked whether he had rekindled his romance with his co-star in new movie The Edge Of Love, the actor told Richard and Judy: 'Categorically no!'

On the question of whether fellow Welshman Ifans had anything to worry about, he told the teatime TV hosts: 'Not that I'm aware of'.

Ifans has been pictured drowning his sorrows at the pub following his break-up with Miller, whose former lovers include Jude Law.

By contrast Sienna seemed to be bearing up well following her split from Rhys Ifans.

She said: 'I'm not victimising myself, I'm not this tragic figure. My life is privileged but it comes at a price. And it's exactly where I'm supposed to be.

'I make decisions. I take responsibility for them. And I f*** up.'

Sienna then went off to record the Jonathan Ross show, which airs tonight, before joining Keira at a quiet after-party at the Berkeley Hotel.
