Prison break: Posh and Becks escape to Alcatraz with the kids

Updated 17:02pm on 23 Jun 2008

They're used to luxury surrounds, but the Beckham children got a education in hard living during a visit to Alcatraz yesterday.

Victoria and David took their sons Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, three, to the notorious prison, which once housed crime boss Al Capone.

Posh, as usual, was overdressed for the occasion, tottering around The Rock in towering wedges and a blue mini dress.

She flew into San Francisco to join her husband after his launch of his new Armani underwear campaign.

Meanwhile, the former Spice Girl is preparing to unveil a surprise package of her own - a new dress collection.

She says: 'It will be something completely different from what I've ever done.'

'I'm just putting it together at the moment, but they will be very upscale dresses and likely will start at around $1,200 retail.

'I'm going to be using very expensive fabrics and finishes, lots of embroideries.'

Eventually she hopes to branch out into shoes and bags.
