Roger Federer enjoyed a day off from Wimbledon yesterday to go to the zoo with heavily pregnant Gwen Stefani and her family.

The world number one, who is great friends with the No Doubt singer and her husband, musician Gavin Rossdale, looked completely relaxed on the visit.

But he will be back in action on Centre Court later today in his second round match against Robin Soderling.

Federer chose London Zoo as the perfect place to relax after winning his opening match against Dominik Hrbaty on Monday.

Stefani, 38, chatted to the tennis ace as they viewed the animals - including a visit to the monkey enclosure - before taking her two-year-old son Kingston for a fairground ride.

Stefani has been out and about in London this week, taking Kingston to the playground and for a walk on Primrose Hill.

Yesterday she was looking blooming in a floaty black-and-white patterned top and skinny jeans with gladiator sandals.

Five-times Wimbledon champion Federer was today facing Sweden's Robin Soderling on Centre Court.
