Rising star: Is TV's Dec wearing heeled shoes to give himself a lift on US game show?

Updated 16:20pm on 30 Jun 2008

TV Presenter Declan Donnelly appears to have grown a few inches since moving to the States to launch a new show.

The 32-year-old Geordie of duo Ant and Dec has always been noticeably shorter than his on-screen partner Ant McPartlin.

But on YouTube footage of the US gameshow, the pint-sized star has grown to new heights and is shoulder to shoulder with his presenting buddy.

The video has led fans to speculate that the 5ft 6in star has taken to wearing high heels.

A fan commented on YouTube: 'Dec must be wearing heeled shoes because he looks a little higher.'

Another fan replied: 'Guys can wear these type of shoes but they are not heels.

'There's just a few hidden inches but they aren't obvious. But as you said, there are man-heeled shoes out there too.'

Maybe he got some hints from Britain's Got Talent colleague Simon Cowell, who is renowned for wearing stacked shoes to enhance his stature.

Ant and Dec have presented a number of high-profile shows including I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain's Got Talent and Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Geordie pair have gone to the US to launch a gambling game show called Wanna Bet?, which they hope will bring them Stateside success.

It appears Dec is already enjoying his new elevated status.
