Live and let dye: Pierce Brosnan ditches his greying roots for the red carpet

Updated 17:12pm on 3 Jul 2008

Actor Pierce Brosnan looked younger than ever when he sported noticeably darker hair for the red carpet.

The fresh-faced 55-year-old hit the hair dye to return to his James Bond best in preparation for the premiere of his latest movie Mamma Mia!

Last year, the Irish actor opted for the natural look with distinguished grey hair but has obviously decided to hold back the ravages of time with a little help from the dye bottle.

Brosnan attended the premiere in Berlin last night alongside co-stars Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski and Dominic Cooper.

The film also premiered in London's Leceister Square on Tuesday, where he took  wife Keely Shaye Smith, 44.

Mamma Mia! is based on the long-running West End musical which features songs by Abba.

The plot follows a teenage girl's quest to find her real father before she gets married.
