Sacha  Baron Cohen's spoof Kazakhstani reporter may have turned heads - and stomachs - with his revealing lime green 'mankini', but now Hollywood A-lister Jim Carrey is getting in on the horrifying act, too.

The actor donned girlfriend Jenny McCarthy's bathing suit for a July 4 stroll along Malibu Beach, to the obvious amusement of fellow sun-worshippers.

Thirty-five-year-old Playboy-model-turned-actress Jenny looked stunning as she wore the black one-piece, but on the Bruce Almighty star, the effect was far less flattering - even though his physique suggests he's been putting in the hours at the gym.

The pair were taking in the sun as Carrey took an Independence Day break from filming a new version of The Christmas Carol, in which he plays four characters - including Ebenezer Scrooge.

One friend said Carrey and his girlfriend have 'very similar senses of humour', adding: 'Both have no shame about embarrassing themselves in public for fun. They don't care what other people think.'

McCarthy recently said she loves Carrey because of 'his capacity to love and take on something that most men would run away from'.
