'I'm desperate to tone up my bikini body,' admits WAG Alex Curran

She may be a slim Size 10, but WAG Alex Curran has admitted she is still unhappy with her body.

The wife of footballer Steven Gerrard, who has two children Lilly-Ella, four, and Lexie, almost two, has vowed to embark on a new fitness regime to overhaul her physique.

The 25-year-old, who has just returned from a three-week poolside holiday in Miami, says: 'I really want to tone up and get fit this year.

'I haven't felt quite the same about my body since having children and I would just like to be fitter to be able to keep up with my girls.'

Body battle: Alex admits she hasn't felt the same about her physique since having children

Alex says it is her shape, not a number on the scales, that she is focused on changing.

'I never weigh myself. I'm not sure what I weigh - I think I'm around eight and a half stone.

'I can tell if I've put on a few pounds by the way my clothes fit. It's best to keep off the scales as  you can drive yourself mad.'

Alex admits she 'absolutely hates' working out at the gym, but is already ramping up a new outdoor exercise programme.

'I've started power walking with my mum a few times a week, though, and I can really tell the difference. I'll be keeping it up now that I'm back from my holiday.

'We also have a pool at home and every other day I try to swim 25 lengths while the girls are playing.'

When it comes to dieting, Alex, who recently celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary to Gerrard, says she favours moderation.

She told Now magazine: 'I try my best to avoid eating carbohydrates too late at night in the run-up to a holiday. I make sure I drink lots of water to flush out my system and get rid of any lumpy bits.

'I also snack on fruit instead of sweet treats, but I don't think the odd square of chocolate or glass of champagne does any harm.

'I don't believe in denying myself anything, as it'll only make me crave it even more.'

But that would work some hard work Alex. I doubt your up for that. Cosmetic surgery perhaps?

How hard it must be for her - having to fit in exercise around such a busy lifestyle...
