Wayne Rooney has returned from his honeymoon with a new wife, a spot of sunburn - and a fresh tattoo.

The Manchester United star showed off his newly inked arm after a meeting with his management team in Cheshire today.

The 22-year-old now has the phrase 'Just Enough Education To Perform' scrawled across his left forearm in a tribute to his favourite band, Stereophonics.

Tribute: Wayne dedicated his tattoo to his favourite band Stereophonics, who played at his wedding

It is the title of the band's 2001 album, and a line from their track Mr Writer, a rally cry against the press.

The Welsh rockers performed at Rooney's Italian wedding - a £5 million affair covered by celebrity weekly magazine OK! - last month as a surprise gift from his bride.

A source said at the time: 'They blew everybody away and Wayne was simply gobsmacked.'

'Stereophonics are one of his favourite bands - he looked like he’d won the Lottery.'

Rooney already has tattoo of Coleen's name, the St George's flag and a Celtic cross.
