Special delivery: Tom and Katie send new mum Nicole a bumper baby basket

Updated 22:31pm on 11 Jul 2008

Tom Cruise has sent his ex-wife Nicole Kidman a huge baby basket to celebrate the birth of Sunday Rose.

Cruise and third wife Katie Holmes ordered an expensive basket laden with designer baby goodies to Kidman and husband Keith Urban.

The Oscar-winning actress, 41, gave birth to her 6lb 7.5oz baby girl in a Nashville, Tennessee hospital on Monday.

Despite reports Cruise and Holmes sent Kidman a 'room full of flowers', it has been confirmed they actually sent a baby basket containing chenille Giraffe baby blankets, items from the Hermes baby collection and other newborn accessories.

When Holmes gave birth to daughter Suri two years ago, Kidman said: 'I hope both mother and baby are doing well.'

Announcing the birth of Sunday Rose earlier this week, Kidman and Urban said: 'We feel immensely blessed and grateful to be given this beautiful baby girl. She's an absolute delight.'

The newborn's unusual name was inspired by artist's muse Sunday Reed and Rose was the name of Urban's late grandmother.

Kidman and Cruise are adoptive parents to Connor, 13, and Isabella, 15, from their 10-year marriage.

Both exes married their current spouses in 2006.

Kidman married Urban in a Catholic ceremony in Sydney in June 2006 after an 18-month courtship, while Cruise married Holmes in a star-studded Scientology wedding in an Italian castle in November 2006 - seven months after the Batman Begins star gave birth to daughter Suri.
