As his ex-girlfriend Sienna Miller frolics with her new married lover on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, a downtrodden Rhys Ifans drowned his sorrows on the side streets of Notting Hill with a plate of chips yesterday.

The actor looked in a tragic state as he sat on grimy pavement to eat his dinner on the road.

With a glass of beer in one hand, a lonely Rhys couldn't hide the devastation on his face at having been publicly humiliated by Sienna.

Looking his usual scruffy self, Rhys could have been easily mistaken for a homeless man as he gorged into his plate of junk food.

But not one to litter, Rhys picked up his rubbish and dumped it into the bin when he finished his meal.

The 39-year-old has obviously been affected by the break-up as he didn't seem to care about his appearance.

Sienna and Rhys dated for less than a year and although they were rumoured to be engaged, there were reports that their relationship was on the rocks due to Rhys's jealous behaviour.

However, Sienna had been spotted having a secret meeting with married man Balthazar Getty, heir to an oil fortune and a father of four.

Confirmation they were together came when the couple were pictured kissing on board a luxury boat in Italy over the weekend.

And the couple could be seeing more of one another as Sienna is keen to sell her home in Maida Vale, North-West London, to move to Hollywood where Getty is based.
