Nereida Gallardo has denied that her relationship with Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo is over.

Outside her home in Majorca, the curvy Spanish model who had been enjoying a five-month long romance with Ronaldo said: 'I don't know where this story has come from. I have spoken to him today, as always.'

Still wearing the huge diamond ring he had given her, she added: 'We are together. He told me he loves me and I him.'

But despite Nereida's assertions, it continues to be reported that they are no longer together. And that Ronaldo was upset by reports about a past relationship with footballer Sergio Ramos, who plays for Real Madrid - the club he is linked with a move to.

The 23-year-old striker allegedly dumped his model girlfriend of five months just before an operation on his injured right ankle last week.

A source told the Sun: 'Details of past relationships became known to Cristiano which he hadn't known before and he was unhappy.

'He had also become bored of the relationship. He's a young man and felt it was the right time.'

The news has come as a shock after the pair were recently seen enjoying a romantic holiday in Sardinia.

But Portuguese tabloid 24 Horas which first revealed the story said the reason for the split was 'a secret of the gods'.

However, the news of their split came soon after it was reported that Nereida had enjoyed a tryst with £80,000 a week striker Sergio Ramos, 22, after they met in a nightclub last November.

And Spanish football agent Pedro Campane also told how he allegedly enjoyed a fling with Nereida in his flat after chatting her up in a club. 

It was also claimed she did not get on with Ronaldo's mother Dolores.

And the striker's mother was also said to be unhappy with topless modelling shots of Nereida.

Especially a set of lesbian-style poses of Nereida with her friends in a nightclub toilet.

Gallardo had planned to spend the weekend in Portugal with Ronaldo but cancelled her flight after injuring her foot in a fall.

But she was well enough to go to Ibiza this weekend with a friend after booking a last-minute trip.

She flew to the island on Saturday and attended a private party until the early hours of yesterday.

She was thought to be at the Majorca home of mother Ana and stepfather Francisco Jose on the outskirts of the capital Palma.

Ronaldo was said to be resting at his home in Sintra, north of Lisbon.

Last month, the couple put on a very public display of affection as they holidayed on a £10million yacht moored off Sardinia.
