He found fame playing portly David Brent on TV's The Office.
Now it appears Ricky Gervais has reverted to his former character for real life inspiration.
The actor/comedian, 47, stepped out in West Hollywood with a stomach that made it abundantly clear he is enjoying the good life.

The outing followed a period of days when the actor was trying to cover up his expanding girth by wearing supposedly slimming black outfits.
Today, however, his expanding stomach was very much apparent.
Gervais has been relaxing in Hollywood for the past week on business.
With a pair of designer sunglasses, Ricky and his partner Jane Fallon took a stroll though the California sunshine.
