First it was Victoria Beckham, then it was Katie Holmes and now Eva Longoria has succumbed to the cult of the 'pob' hairstyle.

The Spice Girl lopped off her WAG signature hair extensions in August 2006 for a cropped bob hairstyle, coining the phrase 'pob' - meaning 'Posh bob'.

Nine months later, Posh's pal Katie followed suit with her own take on the pob and now their friend Eva has caught on to the trend - albeit nearly two years after Victoria.

Fresh from a sunshine break in the Mediterranean, the Desperate Housewives actress decided to toast her return Stateside with a fresh new look.

Losing her formerly luscious, long brown locks, the 33-year-old has gone for a more mumsy, short style.

While her pal Posh's locks are poker straight, Eva's natural waves curl around her face, meaning her style looks more similar to that of Tom Cruise's wife.

Eva showed off her new look during a day out in Los Angeles yesterday with her basketball star husband Tony Parker.

After a trip to swap their Euros for U.S. dollars at the Pacific Bank in Beverly Hills, Tony drove their Bentley convertible to the trendy Toast restaurant in West Hollywood for a late lunch.

Eva, dressed in a casual pink dress and sandals, looked diminutive next to her lofty husband Tony, who at 6'1" is 11 inches taller than his actress wife.

The couple spent last week lounging on a luxury yacht off the coast of Italy to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

They wed in a £1million star-studded ceremony with an exclusive magazine deal with OK! magazine in Paris last year.

Among the guests were Eva's Desperate Housewives co-stars Teri Hatcher, Nicollette Sheridan, Felicity Huffman and Brenda Strong as well as actress Jessica Alba and singer Sheryl Crow.

Eva and Tony started dating in 2005 after meeting in the San Antonio Spurs locker room after a basketball game.

They recently denied reports Eva was pregnant with the couple's first child.

Tony said: 'She's not pregnant now if that's your question. I'm not thinking like that right now.'
