Back to work for J.Lo as she channels Fifties chic

Updated 12:19pm on 15 Jul 2008

Jennifer Lopez went back in time yesterday as she stepped out in a Fifties-style prom dress for a photo shoot.

J.Lo posed alongside Dominican designer Oscar De La Renta for the Elle magazine shoot in uptown Manhattan.

Lopez was styled in a red and white prom dress which showed off her slimmed down figure since her twins Max and Emme were born in February.

Despite losing most of the three stone she gained while pregnant, it appeared Lopez's dress was a tad too tight for the Latina singer/actress after her stylist failed to do the zip all the way up.

But despite her chic Fifties look, Lopez showed her Bronx roots by opting for some huge, gold 'bling' earrings.

Lopez's recent trip to Europe was evident thanks to her tan lines after she spent time lounging around on a yacht in the Mediterranean in a skimpy bikini.

The 38-year-old actress indulged in a game of chess with De La Renta for the magazine shoot, believed to be her first since giving birth to her twins.

Lopez has been hard at work in recent months losing the pounds she gained while pregnant with her twins.

While Lopez and her babies escorted husband Marc Anthony on his European tour, the star made time to burn off the pounds with regular swims and power walks.

She is set to return to her movie career later this summer after two years off in Love And Other Impossible Pursuits and The Governess.
