With perfect hair, fabulous new outfits and a host of new songs the stars of High School Musical are back - in their biggest film so far.

After the success of the first two made-for-TV movies Gabriella, Troy and the gang are hitting the big screen for the first time.

And with a budget of more than £4 million High School Musical 3: Senior Year, should thrill the 250million worldwide fans.

After 45 days filming flat-out at Salt Lake City in Utah with director Kenny Ortega the movie is now complete - although it won't be released in cinemas until October 24.

But it's clear the teen stars have lost none of their sparkle.

In their senior year the gang dress to impress at the Wildcats prom before failing to hold back the tears at graduation.

With Gabriella Montez, played by Vanessa Hudgens, then heading off to Stanford University while boyfriend Troy Bolton, played by Zac Efron, sets off to play basketball at college, this is the final time we'll see them together at East High School.

Efron says: 'Everything's been stepped up a few notches, all the dances, and I think the songs are pretty catchy this time around.

'And it's our senior year, so we've got graduation and prom to look forward to. All fun things to have in a movie." 

He continued: 'We wanted it to end at East High.

'There are a lot of questions, everyone wants to know where we leave our futures, and this is a great way to leave the story.'

But fans of the hit films needn't despair as there are now plans for a fourth installment - with new pupils.
