Actress Joely Richardson unveiled her bikini body as she enjoyed the sunshine poolside at the Ischia Film and Music festival in Italy.

The Nip/Tuck star, 43, was seen enjoying a break with her daughter, and looked extremely svelte in her black bikini.

But maybe wary of prying long lenses, the actress covered up quickly with a pink sarong as she and her teenage daughter Daisy headed to lunch.

The star has looked much healthier of late compared to last year when pictures emerged of her looking extremely gaunt.

Joely has now regained some of the weight she lost, which she attributed to a bout of illness followed by a vigorous exercise regime.

The British actress, daughter of legendary actress Vanessa Redgrave earns a reported £3million a year for her role in hit American series Nip/Tuck.

But in 2006 quit to spend more time with her daughter Daisy, 15, who had been suffering from a rare circulation problem.

At the time, she told Easy Living magazine: 'I'd worked incredibly hard the year before. But one day I thought, 'What am I doing? Everything that's of value in my life I'm not spending time on.

'I bought a house in the countryside and it was the complete opposite to the world I'd previously inhabited. If you go back to the basics painting, cooking, pulling vegetables out of the garden.  Your mind goes completely quiet.'

She returned last year to make a fifth series of the award-winning cosmetic-surgery satire.

Joely has been seen out with Russian multi-millionaire Evgeny Lebedev, who at 27 years old is 16 years her junior.

The 27-year-old, who was voted one of Tatler magazine's most eligible bachelors, took the actress, 43, to a dinner hosted by Louis Vuitton and Richard Prince at the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park last month.

Weight gain: Joely appears much healthier, and has gained weight since last year when she looked increasingly gaunt
