Heroes star Hayden Panettiere vamps up to launch her pop career

Updated 21:44pm on 17 Jul 2008

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere traded in her cheerleader pom poms for a vampish new look to promote her foray into the pop world.

The 18-year-old actress posed for a new TV campaign for US clothing and footwear company Candies, which features her new single, Wake Up Call.

She also wears the brand in her racy new video, which has just been released.

Her album has been four years in the making, with Hayden revealing: ' changed so much over the years just because my life experiences and who I am as a person is obviously reflected in the music.'

The result, she says, is collection of 'very different, very diverse' tracks.

Not that Hayden, who dates co-star Milo Ventimiglia, 31, has given up her superhero powers for good.

She's already filming the third season of her hugely popular drama, which she promises packs just as much punch.

'Everyone's so excited about it,' she says.

'It's the same action, the same high-intensity as the first season.'

For me, nothing says serious musician more than bending over a piano wearing a short skirt!

Still good luck to her, though I fear more wholly unnecessary pop pap is in the offing.
