'Can't wait': Eva Longoria Parker yesterday in Los Angeles on the Desperate Housewives set

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker has a new project in the pipeline - getting pregnant.

'I can't wait!' the excited 33-year-old told America's People magazine after a press conference yesterday.

Wearing a clinging white lace dress, the tanned beauty looked the picture of health.

But fans will see a different side to her in the new series of the hit show.

Her alter ego Gabrielle is about to turn into a frazzled stay-at-home mother-of-two.

However, filming the scenes hasn't put the happily married star off starting a family.

The pint-sized actress recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with basketball player Tony Parker, who plays for the Texas-based San Antonio Spurs.

And already the couple have been the subject of persistent pregnancy rumours.

These were renewed when a curvier than usual Eva was photographed in a bikini off the coast of Italy.

But her representative has denied that Eva is already expecting, saying she  deliberately put on weight to play the part of Gabrielle.

Tony said: 'She's not pregnant now if that's your question. I'm not thinking like that right now.'

Last week, Eva cut off her luscious long hair into a bob, which has been received by a mixed response from fans.
