Actresses are often accused of being uptight, but it seems Meg Ryan is quite happy to let it all hang out.

The 47-year-old sported a laidback look for a day out in New York with a casual blue T-shirt, windswept hair and sunglasses.

There was just one accessory she seemed to have forgotten... her bra.

Meg Ryan opted for a casual bra-less look on a shopping trip in New York

She may have been in need of some support, but Ryan was clearly enjoying herself as she wandered the streets of New York's Soho with 15-year-old son Jack Henry.

The pair were seen fooling around taping each other pulling faces and doing silly dances.

Mother-of-two Ryan also has a three-year-old daughter Daisy True, whom she adopted from China in 2006.

The actress, who is best-known for roles in When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, is set to the return to the big screen after a three-year break to care for her children.

She leads an all-female cast in the remake of George Cukor's classic 1939 film 'The Women' and joins Antonio Banderas in comedy 'My Mom's New Boyfriend', released later this year.

That's unfair! Her nipples seem to be pointing in the right direction, at least. Good on her, at 48, for going bra-less.
