Less than two months after he was born his parents were warned he might not survive.

But Gary Lineker's teenage son George - who looks amazingly like his famous father - was a picture of health when he took to the red carpet for the premiere of the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight.

Sporting near identical haircuts, dark clothing, and of course those famous Lineker ears, George, 16, bears a startling resemblance to his 48-year-old father.

Also accompanying father and son was Lineker's 29-year-old girlfriend Danielle Bux.

The model stood out between her two men in a strapless lemon yellow dress and Lineker Jr looked at home next to his father's girlfriend of seven months.

George was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia at just six weeks old and received intensive treatment at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Now a strapping teenager, as a baby he endured five courses of chemotherapy over seven months to treat acute myeloid leukaemia.

He was finally able to leave hospital aged ten months.

But on Monday night he demonstrated that his health problems are a distant memory and is awaiting his GCSE results next month.

Despite his positive outlook, his father has confirmed that he must still have health checks every 18 months.

Former air stewardess Bux, who is the face of La Senza lingerie, moved in with the BBC sports commentator in July.

They share a home together in Ely, Cambridgeshire but have said they have no immediate plans to marry.

The couple are frequent travellers and have taken a number of exotic trips together including Barbados, where Lineker has a £5million house, Dubai, Spain and Florida.

Former England striker Lineker, who has a £30 million fortune, divorced wife of 20 years Michelle in April 2006.

The childhood sweethearts have four sons - George, Harry, 13, Tobias, 11 and Angus, nine - all of whom have recently holidayed with their father's new love in Barbados.

Bux meanwhile is a single mother with a five-year-old daughter Ella by former Coventry City player Adam Willis.

Mr Willis, 31, is now retired from football following a car accident and works as a PE teacher in Coventry.

He dated Miss Bux for six years.
