Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her breezy new bobbed hairdo after a visit to the salon in New York.

The 38-year-old actress famously chopped her blonde tresses off earlier this year, after outgrowing her poker-straight blonde look.

And it appears that she's a convert to the shoulder grazing appearance.

Flyaway hair: Gwyneth reveals her new do as she leaves a New York hair salon yesterday

For once the usually camera shy actress, who is married to Coldplay star Chris Martin, happily showed off her hair to the waiting photographers.

Mother of two Gwyneth is set to take the role of Regan in new movie King Lear.

Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins will play the lead role while Gwyneth, Naomi Watts and Keira Knightley will star as Lear's three daughters.

The long and short of it: Gwyneth chopped off her long tresses, seen left in February, to a short bob, in April
