Nicole Kidman was today named as Hollywood's least value-for-money star, coming two places below her former husband Tom Cruise.

The actress came bottom of Forbes magazine's annual Ultimate Star Payback League for making her bosses only $1.01 (50p) for each dollar she was paid.

Cruise came in as the movie industry's third least value-for-money actor, due to his high salary and the 2007 box office flop of Lions For Lambs.

Nicole Kidman
Cameron Diaz

Worth it? Nicole Kidman only made her bosses $1.01 for each dollar she was paid, while Cameron Diaz only fared slightly better with $4.03

Kidman, 40, is at the bottom for the second year running after big pay cheques for flops such as The Golden Compass and Bewitched.

However, her personal life is thriving. Kidman, married to Keith Urban, gave birth for the first time earlier this month to a daughter, Sunday Rose.

The actor who topped the list is comic star Vince Vaughn, who made his bosses an average of  $14.78 (£7.40) for each dollar he was paid.

Brad Pitt
Jennifer Aniston

Value for money: Brad Pitt and his former wife Jennifer Aniston made studio heads $12.73 and $10.48 per dollar paid respectively

Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, George Clooney and Jennifer Aniston all proved value for money, landing in the top ten of the Forbes list.

Not so fortunate were Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Jim Carrey, all of whom chalked up a place in the bottom ten.
