The bump she DIDN'T want: Pregnant Natasha Kaplinsky inspects damage to her 4x4

Updated 16:50pm on 27 Jul 2008

It's a different kind of bump all together.

Pregnant Five News presenter Natasha Kaplinsky examines the damage to her gas-guzzling BMW X5 which was dented while parked outside her home in Fulham, south west London.

The silver 4x4 was shunted by a truck leaving it with a nasty dent on the front passenger door and a scratch along the side.

Ms Kaplinsky, who is just a month away from giving birth, was not at home when the accident happened so a neighbour took the driver's details.

The 35-year-old Oxford University graduate became Britain's highest-paid newsreader when she left the BBC to join Five in a £1million-a-year deal.

She boosted viewer figures by 72 per cent when she started on the channel earlier this year.

Shortly afterwards she announced she was expecting a baby with banker husband Justin Bower, who she married two-and-a-half years ago after meeting on a blind date.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner is expected to take a break from work in September.

She will not receive maternity leave because she was hired as freelance. |Despite this, it is thought she can easily afford the repair bill for her car.
