Amy Winehouse's drink was spiked with Ecstasy, claims father Mitch

Amy Winehouse's father is convinced her drink was spiked with Ecstasy before she collapsed in a fit and hospitalised.
Cab driver Mitch was by Amy's side as she was stretchered out of her Camden home and rushed to A&E on Monday night.
A source said: 'Mitch is furious. He's certain someone put E in Amy's drink - and he's determined to get to the bottom of it.

Released: Amy Winehouse leaving hospital via a back entrance yesterday with a security guard in tow
'He is convinced that one of her hangers-on was responsible and he's waiting for a toxicology report to show what caused her to have a fit.
The source told The Sun: 'If his suspicions are proved right, he wants someone to be punished. He is seriously unhappy about Amy's flat being a stop-over for randoms and wants an end to it.'
Mitch had previously blamed the scare on a mistake with her prescription medication.

Emergency: Ambulance crews wheeled Amy Winehouse out of her Camden home on Monday night in a stretcher after she had a 'fit'
Concerned: Amy's father Mitch Winehouse watched on as she was piled into an ambulance

Scare: The frantic scene outside Amy's north London home as she is protected by friends, attended to by paramedics, with 10-15 police in attendance
The singer was discharged from hospital yesterday morning where she was ushered out via a private exit shortly after 9.45am.
A spokeswoman for University College Hospital, where the singer spent a night, said Amy was in good spirits after a 'comfortable night'.
The spokeswoman said: 'Our doctors decided to keep her overnight for observation. She had a comfortable night and will be discharged.'

Anxiety: Amy's friend Remi Nicole shows the strain

Worry: Amy's father and friend Remi Nicole (far right) outside Amy's home after she was rushed to hospital
Less than 24 hours before her discharge, paramedics arrived at her home just after 8.40pm followed by a squad of police.
Amy was shielded by her singer friend Remi Nicole and her father, as well as the paramedics who were in attendance, with only her bare feet exposed as she sat slumped in the wheelchair.
After she was driven off by paramedics, a police van escorted the emergency vehicle to the London hospital where the singer was admitted.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: 'We were called at approximately 8.40pm to an address in NW1 to reports of an adult female taken unwell.
'We sent an ambulance and a fast response car and the patient has been taken to hospital.'

Supplies: Mitch was later seen arriving at the hospital with a bag of KFC
Rushed to hospital: Amy Winehouse, seen on Sunday, the night before her collapse
Since returning home, Amy has been put under 24-hour surveillance in a last-ditch attempt to keep her on the straight and narrow.
A source said: 'Luckily Amy has come to accept she needs help, but it's difficult for her to remain strong when she has a lot of people around her in a lifestyle she is trying to get away from.
'This is why it was thought a good idea to have a constant flow of family to check on her regularly to make sure she is not only eats well, but is taking her medicine.'
The news followed another erratic weekend for the star, who was seen punching a shop's metal security blind after a wild night out which included water fights in the street.
In June the singer was given the stark warning by doctors to 'quit drugs or die'.
The frank warning came as the Rehab star was put under observation in a central London hospital undergoing tests after she collapsed at her Camden home.
She was later taken to the private clinic as a precautionary measure by her father Mitch after she blanked out at her Camden home.
At the end of June she was diagnosed with early stages of emphysema. But as soon as she left the private clinic, the 24-year-old was seen smoking a cigarette.
Her father Mitch Winehouse has admitted that he is terrified that she will fall into her old habits and is concerned she'll be 'dead in three months'.
This is the second time in as many months that Amy has been admitted to hospital.
She was admitted to a London clinic in June after collapsing at home.
Her father Mitch Winehouse said at the time she developed early stage emphysema from smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.
She underwent a series of hospital tests but was discharged in time to perform at the Glastonbury music festival and celebrations for former South African president Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday.
The troubled soul diva became an international star after she released the Grammy-winning album "Back to Black" in 2006 but her music has been overshadowed by reports of drug use and run-ins with the law.
This year, she was investigated by police, although not charged, after a tabloid newspaper published a video that appeared to show her smoking crack cocaine.

Drama: Ambulance crews, police and photographers swarmed the scene
In April 2008 she was cautioned by police for assault after she slapped a man on a night out.
Earlier this month, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail for assault and obstructing justice this month.
Fielder-Civil admitted beating up pub manager James King in a fight in 2006 and then offered him a bribe of £200,000 to keep quiet about it.

Another excuse from Mr Winehouse. Funny that it's never Amy's fault or responsibility? He needs to wake up and stop denying what is plain to see - his daughter is an addict with all the health problems that accompany that. Stop blaming other people!

Ecstasy? Oh my I got a laugh out of that.
Mr Winehouse, Ecstasy is like candy compared to the drugs your daughter takes. You should be worried about the heroin and crack. Those will be the death of your daughter, not Ecstasy...
Daddy Winehouse loves the media attention almost as much as his daughter.

Oh so hard - the potential death of your daughter and the intrusion/seduction of the media.
Section her before she dies.

You're absolutely right.

It is indeed sad to see from a great entertainer.
The writer feels the media attention given to celebs has proven more than Amy can handle.

"Her father blamed the scare on a mistake with her prescription pills, saying: 'She's fine, she just mixed up her medication.'"
Yeah, right Mr Winehouse. Whatever you say...
I used to have sympathy for Amy Winehouse, but that ran out long ago.

Doctors don't give out prescriptions for 'medications' if the patient is still taking drugs, and she clearly still is!

It's so sad, any day we could wake up now to hear Amy Winehouse has died. It will be such a waste and so preventable

Why were there 10-15 police in attendance. Did the crime rate go up in this part of London whilst this was happening. Why were there police there anyway?

They should use her photo in anti-drug/alcohol campaigns. She looks like terrible.
